Proposal Writer

The Proposal Writer will collaborate directly with the Business Development team in drafting proposals to meet solicitation requirements.

  • Read and analyze all formal and informal solicitation materials. Including but not limited to: Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and Solicitations.
  • Identify and clarify opportunities and requirements in order to develop winning themes and strategies. 
  • Coordinate writing assignments with a variety of stakeholders then review and edit proposal responses to ensure win themes and strategy are incorporated and articulated throughout the proposal.
  • Research, write and produce coherent and persuasive proposal content that is compliant and responsive to solicitation requirements.
  • Participate actively throughout the proposal life cycle.
  • Final review before submission, ensures that proposals adhere to requirements for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Manages project and scope-related day-to-day operations.
  • Create and implement processes that will improve proposal quality.
  • Bachelor's required; Communication, English, or Journalism Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience as a Proposal Writer.
  • Working knowledge of the current Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense FAR (DFAR), DCAA, etc.) and the ability to read and interpret Government Synopsis, Request for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and Solicitations.
  • Knowledge of how to read and understand solicitation documents in order to create proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and other necessary parts to ensure that proposals meet the requirements of the solicitation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with others and senior management.
  • Strong adherence to schedules, deadlines, and attention to details.
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with government contracting.
  • Experience working with military personnel preferred.
  • Daily travel in local area during work the day (including use of personal vehicle).
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to obtain or have a security clearance.
