Information Management/ Knowledge Management (IM KM) Manager

Stafford, VA

The Information Management/Knowledge Management (IM/KM) Manager provides IM/KM for the MCTIS program. They develop and provide oversight of processes that enable and improve information and knowledge sharing within existing information management systems and other data-driven architectures. The IM/KM Manager reports to the MCTIS Deputy Program Manager


  • Draft, maintain, and enforce MCTIS Program IM/KM policies, standards, and guidance.
  • Develop, validate, and provide training on IM/KM methodologies.
  • Capture IM/KM requirements; align stakeholder processes and IM/KM support tools, and recommend, modify, or implement IM/KM solutions to meet needs based on organizational priorities, direction, and guidance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to procure resources necessary to address management of the IM/KM program.
  • Maintain associated technology within available communication’s infrastructure and ensure security and Information Technology (IT) compliance.
  • Perform periodic content review of MCTIS collaboration site to ensure compliance with IM/KM Policy.
  • Provide training on IM/KM process improvement analysis.
  • Collect and integrate IM/KM internal and external best practices into policy.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required—Master’s Degree preferred.
  • ​​​​Former USMC Officer with an in depth understanding of USMC service level training exercises.
  • Possesses detailed and functional knowledge of the Marine Corps and Joint/Combined Planning Process and Marine Corps and Joint doctrine related IM/KM.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties operating under deadline constraints. Strong decision-making skills with ability to assess multiple options and identify the best choice to serve a specified goal.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; able to design and write clear communications and briefs.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong administrative and coordination skills, as well as troubleshooting skills with an effective customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to multi-task, deal with ambiguity and reprioritize tasks in response to unexpected changes in priorities/requests.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Windows and MS Office.
  • Primarily office work in a climate-controlled facility.
  • Occasional travel in local area during workday (including use of personal vehicle).
  • A security clearance is required.
