Communication Systems Instructor- Virtualization Products and Services

The Communication Systems Instructor will support the Communication Training Centers (CTCs) by providing professional formal and informal training and instruction (to include online distance learning) on Virtualization Administration based products and services to the warfighters in each Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF). The training and instruction includes VMware Certified Professional (VCP).  Additionally, the Instructor will provide participate in the Curriculum Development process and provide Test Administration.  The Instructor reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the Project Manager in coordination with the Course Manager and Contract Site Lead.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide formal and informal training and instruction (to include online distance learning) on Virtualization Administration based products and services.
  • Maintain audio-visual applications and associated hardware in a classroom training environment. 
  • Reconfigure audio-visual applications and associated hardware for classroom instruction when required.
  • Develop and validate instructional material on designated Virtualization Administration based products and services. 
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on training curriculum improvements and system and application upgrades for designated Virtualization Administration based products and services to the Communication Training Center through approved channels.
  • Provide recommendations for all aspects of course iterations on designated Virtualization Administration based products and services, including Class Schedules, Exceptions to the Course Schedule, Instructor Rating Forms, Instructor Rating Form Recap Sheets, End of Course Critique Sheets, After Instruction Reports, and Instructor After Action Feedback Reports.
  • Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures and Administrative Desktop Procedures.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
 EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  
  • Formal training and proper certifications for the Virtualization Administration based products and services to be taught:  VCP.
EXPERIENCE
  • ​​​​​Minimum of four years of documented experience instructing Virtualization Administration based products and services. 
CORE SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. 
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, and other media type software. 
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures. 
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision, be exceedingly well organized, flexible. 
  • Confidential data and information management experience required. 
  • Strong familiarity with government regulations and directives pertaining to confidentiality, document retention, and project site protocols.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties under operating and deadline constraints.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and maintain focus
  • May be required to lift awkward sized items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to work an unstable schedule, to include holidays and weekends.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
  • A Secret security clearance is required for this position.
