Education Technology Specialist

Quantico, VA
Provide the C2TECOE’s Curriculum Section with a specialist versed in education technologies and methodologies. Assists the Curriculum Section (Course Managers, Academic Managers, and Instructors) analyzing current courses with a critical focus on integrating modern learning technologies and techniques into the curriculum.  Assists with the development, management, maintenance, and administration of newly created courses.  Provide instructors with assistance in implementing technology in their individual courses. Serves as the advisor to the Curriculum Section Head on the latest in learning technologies with a focus on Department of Defense learning innovations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as an education technology specialist for the C2TECOE Curriculum section.
  • Coordinate, on behalf of the C2TECOE, with TECOM for capabilities, training, and programmatic efforts.
  • Manage, as directed, Working Groups and IPTs
  • Assist with development documents and briefs related new educational technologies.
  • Participate in Course Content Review Boards (CCRBs), Learning Analysis, Master Lesson File (MLF) Reviews, meetings, and conferences as recommended.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Education Technology or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years of incorporating various student learning environments including, facilitation, distant learning, videos, interactive self-paced lessons and assessment of learning.
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. 
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, and other media type software. 
  • Understand Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design/Systems Approach to Training and Education.
  • Recent Certified instructor demonstrating integration of multiple student-centered learning environments and techniques.
  • Understanding of USMC and Joint educational methodologies preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills in support of rapidly changing scheduling and staffing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of commonly used USMC concepts, practices, and procedures. 
  • Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision, be exceedingly well organized, flexible. 
  • Confidential data and information management experience required. 
  • Strong familiarity with government regulations and directives pertaining to confidentiality, document retention, and project site protocols.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties under operating and deadline constraints.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
  • May be required to lift awkward sized items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work an unstable schedule, to include holidays and weekends.
  • May be required to work in inclement temperatures from 100 degrees to -25 degrees.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
  • A Secret security clearance is required for this position.
