Junior Systems Administrator

The Junior Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of all Information Technology functions at the company.  The Junior Systems Administrator reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the Corps Solutions Information Technology (IT) Division Chief.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in administering the day-to-day Systems Administration and IT support functions for over 200 multi-state employees.

The Junior Systems Administrator duties include:
  • Endpoint set-up and configuration management, including using Microsoft’s Endpoint Manager.
  • Resolving IT helpdesk troubleshooting requests and manage the helpdesk tickets and account.
  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365 administration including setting and adjusting advanced security features.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Azure Active Directory (AD) Role, Users, Groups, and Security Settings.
  • Complete Identity and Access Management tasks.
  • Assist with Cisco firewall configuration management.
  • Assist with VPN configuration management.
  • Assist with Vulnerability Management system (review logs, adjust configuration settings).
  • Familiar with setup and management of a virtual machine instance.
  • Have basic familiarity with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC ML3 compliance requirements.
  • Assist the Director for Information Management, the Information Management Division Chief, and the IT Division Chief with various research and special projects.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties such as answering phones, mailing IT equipment, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
EDUCATION
  • Associates degree in Systems Administration, IT, or related field is desired.
 
CERTIFICATIONS
One or more of the following certifications is required, in order of preference.
  1. Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
  2. Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  3. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  4. ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
  5. CompTIA Security +
EXPERIENCE
  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of progressive experience in Systems Administration and IT management.
  • Must have solid Systems Administration skills in the duty areas listed above.

  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and employee relations skills. This includes being polished, courteous, professional, and patient.
  • Experience working with systems that interact with U.S. Federal Government / DoD military networks is preferred.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer service and collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of current Federal Systems Administration and IT regulations and best practices.
  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ingenuity with the ability to effectively achieve organizational established goals and objectives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills necessary.
  • Able to design and write clear employee communications and present training programs in English.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as MS Windows and Office 365.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Capacity to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus in an office environment.
  • Ability to climb stairs, as the building does not have elevator access.
  • Daily travel in local area during work day (including use of personal vehicle).
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required.
  • All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
