Institutional Research Analyst

Quantico, VA
The Institutional and Research Analyst at the College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the Site Lead.  The Institutional and Research Analyst will perform the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define and develop course survey instruments with each Distance Education Program Branch Associate Dean and the Dean of Academics.
  • Electronically develop and distribute survey instruments and then collect, organize, and summarize the data for all Distance Education Programs.
  • Electronically provide an academic institutional research report, by course, to the Command and Staff College Distance Education Program, Expeditionary Warfare School Distance Education Program, and Enlisted College Distance Education Program for use in their annual Course Content Review Board.
  • Coordinate with the dean, associate deans and the head of student support for purposes of collecting, calculating, displaying and distributing institutional research data and information.
  • Participate as a member(s) of the CDET Professional Military Education Course Content Review Boards by providing course specific input from students and adjunct faculty.
  • Create the annual academic institutional research report that includes a summary and conclusion of course data for a specific academic year for each program.
  • Archive records required for the Process for the Accreditation of Joint Education accreditation and other accrediting bodies at the CDET Headquarters.
  • Collaborate with Marine Corps University Institutional Research, Assessment & Planning in developing and coordinating Institutional Research program information and the Director’s annual assessment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of six years of experience and a BA/BS is required, MA/MS degree preferred.
  • Two + years of experience conducting education or social science research in an education setting using data analysis, research methods, and statistics.

  • Strong communications and presentation skills.
  • Have a working knowledge of the Marine Corps.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Windows and MS Office.
  • Expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required.
  • All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
  • Ability to obtain or have a security clearance.
  • 15-25% travel expected.
  • Position expected to begin on or about 1 Jul 2021.
