Aviation Logistics Analyst

The Aviation Logistics Analyst reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the Project Manager.  The Aviation Logistics Analyst will perform the following duties: 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Provide technical support services to assist in conducting aircraft trend analysis, mission degraders, and implementation of new aircraft system upgrades in order to ensure aircraft readiness and mission capability are maintained at the highest possible levels.  
  • Conduct interpretation of aircraft readiness reports, data analysis, interface with supporting commands, and monitoring of aircraft system upgrades.   
  • Monitor all aircraft readiness reporting.  
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of monthly Aircraft Material Readiness Reports.  
  • Monitor and report on Aviation Logistics Management Assist Teams’ (ALMAT) detailed inspections of functional areas such as Central Technical Publication Libraries, Technical Directives Programs, Enhanced Comprehensive Asset Management System (ECAMS), Records and Reports, Aircraft Logs and Records and Maintenance Administration.  
  • Identify problems/unfavorable trends and their impact on mission readiness and maintenance safety. Provide viable solutions for timely courses of corrective action.  
  • Provide continual Marine Aviation Logistics Support Program (MALSP), aviation logistics support ships (T-AVB) and aviation logistics input to staff as required.  
  • Provide technical evaluations of existing assessment techniques and provide recommendations for new assessment techniques, which would further or more clearly identify data discrepancies.  
  • Provide situational awareness briefs, and subject matter recommendations and feedback for Naval Aviation Enterprise, AIRSpeed, and Fleet Readiness Center maintenance processes and programs.  
  • Maintain aircraft readiness charts. 
  • Attend Aviation Logistics Readiness Plan (ALRP) milestone and Transition Task Force (TTF) meetings.  
  • Liaison regarding both surface and air movement of aircraft and associated equipment and supplies between Deployment, & Distribution Operations Center (MDDOC), higher headquarters and MSC’s.  
  • Monitor elements for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for induction of new weapons systems platforms.  
  • Monitor and participate in Marine Aviation Transition Strategy (MATS) for operational planning. 
  • Conduct scheduled in-progress reviews and confirmation briefs; prepare and deliver associated meeting minutes.  
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience and a MA/MS degree.  
  • Attended Professional Military Education appropriate to rank at time of separation or retirement from the uniformed service.   
  • Experience on a 3 Star or 4 Star staff is desired.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
  • Strong communications and presentation skills.  
  • Have a working knowledge of the Marine Corps and Joint Planning Process. 
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills. 
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Windows and MS Office.  
  • Expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment.  
WORKING CONDITIONS 
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus. 
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required.
  • All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider. 
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS 
  • Ability to obtain or have a security clearance. 
  • 15-25% travel expected. 
  • Position expected to begin on or about 1 Dec 2020.
