Network Systems Administrator

The Network/Systems Administrator reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the Project Manager.  The Network/Systems Administrator will perform the following duties: 
  • Responsible for maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers. 
  • Installs all network, hardware and software and updates systems when required. 
  • Maintains network and computer systems security to ensure systems operate adequately. 
  • Collects data to evaluate network or systems health and supports network architects design and analyze network models. 
  • Participates in research and development to continuously improve IT business needs. 
  • Provide Program of Record (POR) technical support of systems, networks, and equipment, to include; physical/virtual server administration, networking, system administration, technical guidance, Government Off the Shelf/Commercial Off the Shelf software installation, configuration management, system troubleshooting, IAVA/STIG patching, coordinating the deployment of software releases, and ensuring system availability. 
  • Integrate existing and newly fielded Joint and Marine Corps systems into COCOM theater, Joint, bi-lateral and multi-lateral architecture, and ensure newly fielded systems support the host servers at the principal site (MARFORPAC), major subordinate commands, direct report units, and other designated locations. 
  • Conduct scheduled in-progress reviews and confirmation briefs; prepare and deliver associated meeting minutes.  
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience and a MA/MS degree.  
  • Attended Professional Military Education appropriate to rank at time of separation or retirement from the uniformed service.   
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 
  • Strong communications and presentation skills.  
  • Have a working knowledge of the Marine Corps. 
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills. 
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Windows and MS Office.  
  • Expected to perform independently and exercise good judgment.  
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
  • Qualification as an authorized company driver is required.
  • All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
  • Ability to obtain or have a security clearance. 
  • 15-25% travel expected. 
  • Position expected to begin on or about 1 Dec 2020.
