The MLS2 Tactical Systems Instructor will support MISTC-29 Palms by providing instruction for TCPT Operator, TCPT Resource Mission Manager, and CLC2S Courses. This will include participation in curriculum development processes involving MLS2 Courses.  The Instructor will collect and maintain course data for this course to provide to the Course Chief.  During MISTC Watch Officer/Watch Chief Courses and Battle Staff Training Events, the instructor will provide white cell support by implementing TCPT/CLC2S into the training. The MLS2 Instructor reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the Project Manager in coordination with the Site Lead.
  • Provide instruction on the installation, configuration, operation, integration and maintenance of military tactical command and control systems dedicated to MLS2 Tactical Systems functionality to include TCPT and CLC2S systems and applications.
  • Maintain TCPT and CLC2S applications by configuring and troubleshooting each system per supporting technical documentation in a classroom training environment. 
  • Reconfigure MLS2 systems for classroom instruction when required and be able to provide mobile training by connecting MLS2 virtual machines to individual unit networks at their prospective locations.
  • Provide over the shoulder support to personnel during MISTC supported exercises.
  • Develop and validate instructional material on MLS2 systems.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on all MLS2 training material improvements.
  • Conduct MLS2 system capability demonstrations to Operating Force Marines. 
  • Travel to the other MISTCs to provide MLS2 surge support as required.
  • Participate in Course Content Review Boards (CCRBs), Learning Analysis, Master Lesson File (MLF) Reviews, meetings and conferences as required.
  • Input, collect and collate all course evaluation data within the MCTIMS application IOT provide a trends report to the MLS2 Course Chief and site director. 
  • Communicate with the MLS2 Course Chief and other TCPT/CLC2S Instructors at the other MISTCs and C2 TECOE sites.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed all basic and advanced courses for TCPT and CLC2S.
  • Mastery level of experience with Microsoft Office applications and all Virtual Machine player software to include basic knowledge of ESX/vSphere software.
  • Basic level of certification of SharePoint.
  • Basic level knowledge of GCSS-MC (Global Command System Support Marine Corps).
  • Graduate of the Formal School Instructor/Basic Instructor Course.
  • Officer/NCO intermediate or career level school or service equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of documented experience instructing and employing the respective systems to support MAGTF operations to include COC watch stander operations. 
  • Shall have experience and knowledge of the products developed by the MLS2 Systems to support the MCPP and systems utilization in plans execution for current operations.
  • Direct participation in real world operations is required with a preference for participation in Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Detailed knowledge of Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design / Systems Approach to Training and Education.
  • Must have system administrator mastery of on-hand application of CLC2S and TCPT.
  • Understanding of the operational purpose and basic operator use of GCSS-MC and documented experience of working in a ALOC/TLOC providing MLS2 support.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
  • Occasional travel is required.
  • Must have an active Secret clearance.
