The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in Range Operations and Communications and Information Systems (CIS), to include the Range Facility Management and Support System (RFMSS) and the Integrated Range Support System (IRSS).  
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide RFMSS and Communications and Information Systems (CIS) engineering support and perform tasks associated with IT Communications support to include: planning, testing, integration, utilization, modification, maintenance of RFMSS and IRSS.
  • Review and comment on all documents from the RFMSS configuration management working group, RFMSS field advisory team, and RFMSS Range Officer Professional Development Phase-III working group.
  • Provide a single point of coordination for Range and Training Area (RTA) scheduling using the RFMSS for East Coast USMC Facilities.
  • Collect and submit RFMSS system change requests, change requests shall focus on streamlining RFMSS procedures while supporting RCF day-to-day operations.
  • Attend RTAM and installation working group meetings to review plans, policies, and procedures associated with IT communication network planning for USMC range complex operations.
  • Participate in planning (via document review) for related communications/IT support for future range and training facility systems and capabilities for the short-term (1-2 years) and long-term (5+ years) requirements. 
  • Assist in providing formalized training to users at the ROPD RFMSS course.
  • Assist in the development of the ROPD RFMSS training curriculum.
  • Use RFMSS data to determine historical usage of ranges and training areas for future requirements in support of the Range Complex Master Plan (RCMP).  
  • Use Installation Status Report (ISR) RFMSS to provide decision-making level information to sustain or improve the management of facilities.
  • Provide data collection and analysis ISO RFMSS and MCRTAMS system improvements.
  • Participate in 4-6 Technical Assist visits per year at installation range control facilities.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) Course (resident).
  • Intermediate Level Range Safety Course.
  • GIS for Range Mangers Course.
  • Range Safety Course (MarineNet).
  • CompTIA Network + certification preferred.
  • CompTIA Security + certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • Ideal candidate is a former Marine SNCO or Officer with at least three years of experience working with RFMSS and IRSS.
  • Completion of a military career-level school preferred (Officer or SNCO).
