The ideal candidate is a former Marine with experience working in range and training area operations. An information technology background is required to facilitate communication between various IT-centric project teams and the government customer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Meet with various IT-centric project teams for the purpose of identifying progress against goals.
  • Liaise with IT-centric project teams to identify issues affecting deliverables.
  • Assist government customer by representing the Range and Training Area Management (RTAM) branch’s equities at various conferences and meetings. Document issues that conflict with RTAM goals and objectives.
  • Propose courses of action to resolve issues that affect RTAM goals and objectives.
  • Be able to translate IT jargon into laymen’s terms so the government customer has a clear understanding of the current progress of the various projects and challenges associated with meeting RTAM goals and objectives.    
  • Attend RTAM and installation working group meetings to review plans, policies, and procedures associated with IT communication network planning for USMC range complex operations.
  • Participate in planning (via document review) for related communications/IT support for future range and training facility systems and capabilities for short-term (1-2 years) and long-term (5+ years) requirements. 
  • Use Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) data to determine historical usage of ranges and training areas for future requirements in support of the Range Complex Master Plan (RCMP).  
  • Use RFMSS reports to provide decision-making level information to sustain or improve the management of facilities.
  • Provide data collection and analysis ISO RFMSS and Marine Corps Ranges and Training Area Management Systems (MCRTAMS) improvements.
  • Participate in 4-6 Technical Assist visits per year at installation range control facilities.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT discipline to include Computer Science or MIS.
  • CompTIA Network + certification preferred.
  • CompTIA Security + certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • Ideal candidate is a former Marine with experience working in range and training area operations.
  • Two years of Project Management experience.
