Historically, the JNLWD has sponsored a Non-Lethal Weapons Joint Professional Military Education (NLW JPME) elective course which was created on behalf of the JNLWP. This elective course has traditionally been offered at Intermediate and Senior Service Colleges, such as the Marine Corps Command & Staff College, the National Defense University, the Air War College, and the Army War College.

The Contractor shall provide and present a Non-Lethal Weapons "elective" course. The course is entitled the “Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Non-Lethal Elective Course”, and it comprises the bulk of the effort and tasks for this PWS. The Professional Military Education (PME) venues offer a core curriculum for each student. The length of each non-lethal elective course is dependent upon the venue.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participate in development of course curriculum
  • Facilitate and teach the course at the military university level
  • Participate in Range Day at each of the venues
  • Participate in annual curriculum review
EDUCATION
  • Must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree, preference given to Masters or Doctorate
EXPERIENCE
  • Must be affiliated with an accredited University
  • Must have at least five years instruction experience.  Preferably at the University level.
  • Must have at least three years of non-lethal experience
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Three years of experience must be either as an instructor or other type of NLW experience; such as, work with non-lethal technologies, experience supporting the Joint NLW Directorate, a Service related non-lethal acquisition or development program, or work related to non-lethal policy and strategy.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Required to provide instruction for 2-3 hours at a time.
  • Occasional outside work as a part of Range Day, moving small items and walking short distances.
  • Flexible in schedule to accommodate travel schedule to various military schools.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
  • Requires travel throughout the year in support of course delivery at various military schools.
  • Position expected to begin 15 June 2018
